With our hands raised high and loud voice, we stand as
AJEGUNLE, we are not just a "land of wealth" like the
English translation suggest but #WeAreWEALTH .
We have not only demonstrated this in intellect, when
we consecutively produced yearly, the best brains in
JAMB and WAEC, but we have also led in sports,
entertainment and commerce. we created our own genre
of music, without conventional promotions, the world
listened to legends like Daddy Showkey, Basket mouth,
Samson siasia, Baba fryo, Don Jazzy, Oritse Femi,
Daddy fresh, OPJ of Wazobia Fm, and many more did
not only became accomplished in their different exploits
but they also remain widely exported and celebrated till
date. The questions is:
As we celebrate the long listing names of the Wealth in
the Ajegunle Child, where are the names of our sisters
(Ajegunle Girls)? why do we have identifiable names of
men with background from Ajegunle and none or little of
the women? Where are the Ajegunle Girls? At least
until this time we are still searching... While ladies like
Rita Orji of the federal house of assembly, representing
PDP, dazzled all to her victory and that of her party in
the 2015 elections, that experience is a landmark
history for the Ajegunle people especially because a lady
did. Blessing Williams, who doubled as an international
model of repute after been awarded "Best Model Nigeria
- catwalk and poise 2015, Blessing's zeal and tenacious
attitude crowned her again in same year the Miss Bikini
Nigeria International 2015. What about Lucy Akaedu?
who has decided not to sleep until she redefines the
image, style and endeavours of the Ajegunle Girl,
through the platform #FaceOfAJEGUNLE beauty
pageant. We are pleased to introduce to you all the
THEME for this year's 2016 Face Of Ajegunle3.0,
which is:
GIRL POWER UNLEASHED 2016
After a two seasons event of the Face Of Ajegunle
Beauty pageant in 2014 and 2015 as organized by
O'LuceeBRANDS and managed by SIGNATURE
INITIATIVES, this project according to latest survey
conducted amongst selected inhabitants of the Ajegunle
communities has been characterized as epical and live
changing, not just to the Ajegunle Girl child, but the
achieved success has also resonated into recreating a
new image for the Ajegunle people.
Following the success of the 2015 Edition, which was
greeted with progressive innovation from well constructed
OBJECTIVE S.E.E.D to tailor made solutions in
consonant with the Brand Slogan "BEAUTY FOR
SERVICE" which also doubled as the theme for the
same here in 2015.
Lucy Ogechi Akaedu who doubles as Lead Model
O'LuceeBRANDS and Project Director - Face Of
Ajegunle Beauty Pageant, explains in her speech
covered by our correspondent on the OBJECTIVE
S.E.E.D: where S- SERVICE to self and the
community, E- Empowerment for the Ajegunle girl as
tool for self reliance, E- ENGAGE the Government,
Business, Royaled, Religious and all Stakeholders on
their Role towards Female Education and Empowerment
and D- Discharge true potentials acquired from the
Faculty of the project, by establishing pet projects that
further becomes a voice for Ajegunle girls, impact the
community and implement policies that appreciates the
integrity and image of the New Ajegunle (especially the
girl child).
This 2016 edition according to organizers will blaze the
trail, considering the input of excellence and culture of
innovation portrayed over the years, while making
relevance through #ProjectCAFFE (Creating Awareness
for Female Education) of the #FOA sisters( Alumni or
Ex contestants and Crowned Faces of Ajegunle).
These duo of Lucy Akaedu and Olaemma Opara is
passionately commited to the course of a better Ajegunle
for us and by us, according to them this year's theme
has been extracted from the many struggles and
collection of potentials gathered from the Ajegunle girl:
The Ajegunle girl is selfless, tenacious, industrious,
talented, home maker, attractive and self reliant. These
Girls; schools, work, provide for their families, lead in
churches or mosques, etc most times they do all this at
a time and sometimes, one at a time. The reality is
that, they have chosen not to blame their poor parents
for not providing enough or the government for
abandoning them anytime battered or voliently violated,
"NO" these Girls, I mean my sisters forge their paths
themselves, with little or no help. Rather than tell
stories of how they are prostitutes, this year's Face of
Ajegunle is set to tell a different story concentrating on
the many pluses of the Ajegunle Girl, than the few
minuses through the 2016 Plans and theme: "GIRL
POWER UNLEASHED"
