AJEGUNLE FASHION & DESIGN WEEK (AJFDW) 2015




THEME: BRINGING THE INTERNATIONAL RUNWAY TO THE GHETTO

Ajegunle Fashion & Design Week (AJFDW) is a multiday fashion event platform that aims to inspire Ajegunle and ultimately, the Nigerian fashion industry; by bringing together buyers, consumers and the media to view the current collections of Ajegunle designers in the fashion hub of Lagos, Nigeria.
Being the first of its kind and maiden edition to be held on 22nd to 26th September 2015, AJFDW intend to lead the way with initiatives that supports, strengthens and develops the fashion industry in Ajegunle. AJFDW is going to be an annual event and beyond the runway, the event will provide a physical platform that will gradually reposition fashion as a useful tool for commerce and creativity in Ajegunle and Nigeria.

Ajegunle will play host to the fashion event that features:
 AJFDW Runway Shows and Presentations featuring new season collections from designers in the Ajegunle fashion industry
 AJFDW Showrooms featuring fashion products, textiles and accessories
 AJFDW Fashion Focus – workshops and master classes that facilitate knowledge transfer, information exchange and networking opportunities across board
 AJFDW Fashion Business Series to facilitate conversations with key players from the Nigerian and Pan African fashion industry as a useful tool for exchanging ideas, networking and developing the Ajegunle fashion industry.
Ajegunle, the AJFDW host is an attraction itself.
AJEGUNLE is a district of Lagos State, Nigeria and is located in the heart of Lagos. In the past few years, it has produced notable footballers, among whom are Samson Siasia, coach of Nigeria’s Under-23 Team, Watford striker Odion Ighalo., former Super Eagles ace defenders Ifeanyi Udeze, Taribo West  and Emmanuel Amuneke, former African Footballer of the Year. Ajegunle has also consistently supplied the entertainment industry with influx of musicians like Daddy showkey, Baba Fryo, African China, Oritse Femi, K-Cee, Presh, and Don Jazzy. Comedians like Basket Mouth, Elenu, Mc shakara, Acappella, Pencil and still counting.
Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it is a concentration of all the many ethnic groups in Nigeria. It is bordered on the west by Apapa Wharf and Tincan, two of Nigeria’s biggest sea ports from where over 70 percent of imported goods come into the country.

Ajegunle – which means “THE RESIDENT OF WEALTH” in Yoruba adage, is one of the most populated community in Lagos state and also the largest consumer of products and services in food, beverages, electronics, telecommunication, fashion and design products etc.
Previous survey has shown that Ajegunle is a huge and attractive sales platform for any product and services to flourish and make profits
All these potentials make AJEGUNLE FASHION & DESIGN WEEK 2015 a lucrative and effective promotional outlet for any potential investor for their products and services with guaranteed patronage.
This will offer foreign investors from around the globe, the secure platform to identify, develop franchise and partner with the fashion designers in Nigeria. It will also build a strong and viable network opportunity for experienced fashion designers in Nigeria and the western world. AJFDW is primarily centered on providing support to designers via education and capacity building as well as opportunity to present their work before an audience that facilitates commerce.
